Broken rice forms when grains fracture during milling, leaving smaller pieces that don’t meet aesthetic commercial standards. In large-scale production, these fragments are often overlooked; sold cheaply or sent off as animal feed, despite being just as nutritious as whole grains. The rejection stems solely from appearance; what doesn’t look perfect is too easily dismissed. Yet each small grain carries the same nourishment and potential as any other, reminding us how much value we lose when we equate worth with looks alone.

At S Grain, we repurpose broken rice into rice milk, transforming what was once treated as waste into  a nourishing, sustainable alternative
